I think that the Ranking System in the FC, although good, needs to be updated.. everyone has multiple jobs now and most people are end game so the end ranks are no longer relevant.
Please vote above if you think they should change
and please write below and suggestions on how the new ranking system should work and then rank names.
I think the current system of ranks should change to something more like the below.
Leader Vice Leader Class leader/Officer (Short message shows who and what they help with) Member End Game (someone who is lvl 50 on at least one class) Member (someone who isn't lvl 50 yet) Newbie (New to the guild and unproven)
Class leader and officer could be separated if there is a need to do so.
To be honest, there's a bit of a difference between being lvl50 and being end-game ready, at least if we define endgame as all patch content. If you want to distinguish between members to improve their internal grouping, it might serve to distinguish between those above and below a certain cutoff, say ilvl80.
I did think that at the time of writing it. As players can play multiple classes on one character it might be better adding the ilvl80+ rank and then using the short message to show character class details.
Yeah I think your right alyssa. There is a huge difference.Perhaps 2 different ranking..End Game blah blah. and 50 fledgling XD or something, We would have to on top of changing people though when they gear up and stuff.
I like Leader and vice leader lol. Its almost President and vice president XD
yea when i made the ranking system, it was early 2.0 when there was only a few endgame members in the FC and end-game meant you had finished the story.. me and atlein were a few of the first members to beat the game for terra lol
It seems Kat has pretty much laid out the idea I initially had upon reading this post. Class Leaders are great if utilised correctly as they can help beginner's of the class 'get their feet wet', so to speak. I was the leader of the Druid class back in WoW in my guild and I adored helping out green Druids, teaching them about the forms and answering any questions they had. It makes both sides feel fulfilled and the beginner's hang around in the guild/FC longer as they are getting their questions answered and they have a community to fall back on.
If implemented poorly it goes the other way. The Class Leader tries to force their ideals onto every other person playing the class, a fight breaks out and everything goes to hell. A tiny bit of unrest within a guild/FC can bring the entire thing down if not handled properly and with the due care it deserves. I've seen this happen on numerous occassions and it is saddening :(
Short Messages are a great way to differentiate ranks as well. Maybe place someone on the 50 rank but have their Short Message say they are part of a designated Crafter/Gatherer team, mayhaps?
